The groom can't host the bachelor party himself. He can suggest ideas to the best man, who organizes and pays for it along with the other groomsmen.

you should probably sit down and have a mature talk about it - see if he expects you guys to split it or if he's planning on helping out
if you guys can afford to let him know
but if you can't you need to let him know he's expecting a lot of you guys and it's not possible
honesty is always best
good luck!

All the men going should chip in and pay for themselves and all split the cost of paying for the bachelor. However you can tell the bachelor NO you cant afford to go there. Because he is not suppose to "choose" it is up to his groomsmen to pick where to go.

typically the party pays for the groom.. but if he wants to chip in and it will ease the burden financially talk it over and everyone put in a certain amount if you look around online.. you will find lots of deals.. i think http://www.doomedgroom.com has specials to go to vegas.. i looked on that site yesterday.. its really informative and funny.
if you guys can make it happen.. vegas is a blast..

I think if he wants something that extravagant, he should be helping to pay for it. In a case like this, it's probably best if each person pays for themself, cause it will be pretty costly. He shouldn't expect all his buddies to pay everything for him in addition to paying for themselves.

For an out-of-town bachelor party, the bachelor should pay his own way. If the party participants want to chip in for something they can buy him a drink at the bar one night during the stay.
Also, the participants should be able to tell the bachelor that he is expecting way too much. Do his friends really have the cash and vacation time to spend four days in Vegas? If I were in that situation, I would speak with the other guys (without the groom) about cost concerns. Then as a group the guys could approach the groom with a more low-key (and less costly) bachelor party alternative.
