But are you absolutely SURE this is something you want to do? Air Force personal do indeed go to war, and just because you're Air Force doesn't mean you won't be injured or killed. We do still have a war going on after all. Also, you will be away from him A LOT with this job. You have boot camp, and there is a lot of training that will go on throughout the years. It is not just boot camp then tech school, no, there is never ending training and testing. There is TDY's where you're sent away, there is deployments where you're sent away and could possibly never come back, are you sure about this? I don't know, me as a mother, I don't want to be away from my young child, she needs me, and I want to be here for her as much as she needs. That means more to me than money. I got pregnant with her while in the Air Force and they let me get out a year early because I was pregnant. I absolutely didn't want to take a chance of having to leave her a lot or go to war. I know I made the right choice. Just be sure you know what you're doing here because once you commit there's no turning back. Oh and just to add, it would be one thing if your child had another parent that would always be with him while you were gone, but he/she doesn't, I just don't think it's fair for your child. It would have to be a family member such as a grandparent. That is a huge decision. Hey, send the kid over here! We'll take care of him.
