Last time they got a senate seat with less than 2% of the vote, due to preferences, this time there is no chance they will get both of the major parties preferences, so will democracy work and get rid of this right wing fundmentalist AOG party dressed up as a family party.

Nah they will get a few religious votes and a few “Oh look the family word” votes. The Libs did a preference deal so they will stick around.
Interesting that their mantra is “Hate the Greens.” Why do conservatives fear them so much? Hey I think I might ask that question…
They’ll be around for at least another three years seeing that Fielding’s been elected till then, but any gains they make from now on will be at the expense of the Libs/Nats. I can’t see the ALP being as stupid as they were in 2004 and preferencing FF ahead of the Greens again.
Then again, it all depends on how the votes fall.

We have not heard to much on the family first policies. It would be nice to see some, before we make a decision.
Our whole society is built on Family and all that that entails. Family is the only continuous social grouping since Adam & eve were here. I do not think that they will hurt society any where near as the greens or the maraguana party.
I can only see them being a benifit.

This is a very interesting statement you have made. I’m curious that you haven’t provided any source of information to back your claim. But further more ignoring that, what I understand the family first party stands for can only better our society.
Its apparently ok to stand up for election, when you spout views that the greens have but if you dare mix morality when running a nation, then shame on you.
No, I actually think shame on you for thinking that this party needs to disappear. Is it because you do not have what is best for the nation at heart only what makes you feel good about yourself…?

So to answer your question, democrcy won’t work and the Liberal Party are trying to make them stronger!!

I don’t bet on anything in politics, but I very much hope that the Family First phenomena, like the One Nation phenomena, disappears into the ether on November 24.
They are racist. They are un-democratic. They are elitist. They are anti-minorities (unless its the Christian minority). They claim to hold the ‘moral high ground’ yet display no morality at all – belief in Christ does NOT make you a good person, non-belief does not make you bad.
While I am all for political choice and freedom I am NOT for forcing dark-ages morality onto the population, and more importantly I am NOT for giving dark-ages morality the balance of power in the senate!
I have met a candidate and have had personal dealings with her and know that she may be a ordained minister but she is racist and dose not have compassion. At times she belittle those who she can. This is not Christian and for me Family First is only masquerading as Christian.
It would be good if they were completely removed from the political landscape.
i think they will grow, all the funding from conservative cristans all over the world could buy allot of scare campaigns.
