Is This A Standard Part Of Your Family Parties?

At all my family’s parties/holiday gatherings, we always have a pickle/olive tray. It consists of:
gherkins
sliced bread and butter pickles
pitted black olives
green olives
kalamata olives
The reason I ask is, this past Christmas, my brother’s girlfriend was intrigued by this pickle/olive tray. So was my friend from Montana.
Do you have a pickle/olive tray at your parties/gatherings?

Not at all! Are you Greek or somewhere of that Mediterranean region? My Greek teacher brought ins something similar in once. What my family always has is salsa and corn chips. Or a salad tray. That’s really interesting though, a pickle/olive tray? Does it taste good? I love black olives and pickles.

Yep, we usually have pickled cauliflower, olives (black, green, stuffed and greek style), dill pickles, baccala, pickled yellow and red peppers, cheeses, yada, yada, the list goes on and on.

The only time I had a selection like this (or similar to it) was when
I had an Italian-style party for my husband.
Otherwise, we have a crudite with the usual veggies. I’m curious
    what your ethinc background is.

Our family always has. Very similar to what you described, but sliced sweets and dills, pitted black olives, and pitted and /or stuffed green olives.

sometimes that or sometimes a veggie tray along with lots of ther food of course but everyone is different and somebody will always ‘ALWAYS’ nitpick over something thats different from what they do. especialy if they’re spoiled or if their missing their tradions

Always. I don’t know how this originated, but it has always been a staple at our family parties. Could it possibly be regional? I’m from the Chicago area.
