Are There Any Books That Will Help Me Preform Better Genealogy Searches?

I never done a genealogy search before. I am trying to do it on my own, but don’t know how or where to start. Are there any books that can help me understand how to searh information for a family tree?
I have tried rootsweb. But I found no useful information. Maybe I am doing it wrong.

I’m glad you asked. I have used this book for over 15 yrs and refer back to it when I get stuck.
Unpuzzling your past by Emily Croom.
She takes you from the very beginning and walks you thru quite a few avenues. Now it costs about $20 but it is so worth it. I believe it’s on its 4th or 5th edition. I had to replace mine a couple of months ago because I had pretty much worn it out. And I bought a friend a copy as a birthday gift. She said it was the best gift she received. It has helped her on many occasions too.
    Good luck on your quest.

Some here are books, the rest are articles, sites, etc.
You learn as you go… starting out, you’ll use documents like birth/death certificates to verify your facts (ie who you are, and link you to your parents). Next, you link each of your parents to their individual parents..again, using documents. (Yes..I repeated it, because it is the foundation of the process). You build methodically. As you reach different time frames, the type of record or document will change (normally you won’t have birth certificates in the 1800’s).
The EXACT record or document will depend on the person, the time, the locality. Some of them will be online, others will not.
Wendy’s one paragraph summary of the research process.
Oh, yes.. grab a cup of coffee and make yourself comfortable here. Plenty of people who enjoy guiding you along.

I think you mean your name to be “Little Angel” NOT “Little Angle.” An angel and an angle are two different things.
